Job Description

The Senior Executive Producer provides editorial leadership for Sky News Arabia’s news output during assigned time slots, setting editorial priorities and shaping how stories are developed and presented.

Working closely with producers, on-air talent, the news desk, and creative and studio teams, the role ensures the delivery of high-quality, original news content in full alignment with Sky News Arabia’s editorial standards, while supporting cross-platform delivery across television and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Head of News, playing an active role in the News leadership team and contributing to wider channel strategy and key editorial decisions.

• Hold editorial responsibility for a defined segment of Sky News Arabia’s programming, either time-based or subject-specific.

• Lead and manage a dedicated team of producers and journalists, working closely with on-air talent, creative, and studio teams to deliver distinctive, original, and high-quality news coverage aligned with Sky News Arabia’s mission.

• Collaborate with the news desk and other output teams to promote a coordinated and integrated approach to news gathering and delivery across the channel.

• Ensure full compliance with Sky News Arabia’s editorial guidelines, values, and standards at all times.

• Operate flexibly within a 24/7 newsroom environment, including shift-based work as required.

• Support news coverage on location in Abu Dhabi, the region, or internationally, as editorial priorities require.

• Demonstrate strong capability in managing breaking news, including effective decision-making under pressure.

• Ensure timely and decisive responses in the gallery during live output and breaking news situations.

• Foster positive collaboration with gallery, production, and editorial teams during live coverage.

• Effectively manage team workload, performance, and development to ensure consistent delivery and resilience.

Key Skills, Experience and Education

• BA in journalism or other related social science major.

• Minimum of 15 years’ experience required.

• Extensive experience in television news at a senior level, including outputting programmes and television news production.

• An excellent journalist with strong editorial judgment.

• Previous experience in a large national or international broadcast news channel.

• Experience of newsroom production systems and desktop editing.

• Team management experience.

• Experience of or appreciation of the benefits and difficulties of cross-platform working.

• Evidence of a broad range of journalistic interests including social affairs, international politics, public policy, world business and economic affairs, Sciences and the Arts.

• Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English.
