As a DevOps Engineer, you will join a digital development team that uses cutting-edge cloud and containerization technologies to support mission-critical digital products across Sky News Arabia and other IMI brands. We look to hire and develop the very best engineering talent and will ensure you receive the training and technical exposure needed to succeed and grow within Sky News Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cloud-based hosting infrastructure and associated services.

• Build and maintain cloud-native development and deployment infrastructure.

• Support engineering teams with platform operations, reliability, and deployment workflows.

• Automate and improve development, deployment, and release processes.

• Ensure systems are safe, secure, and compliant with cybersecurity standards.

• Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using AWS ECS.

• Operate scalable, highly available container-based production environments.

• Partner with engineering teams to optimize cloud-native architectures.

• Drive improvements in observability, monitoring, and incident response.

• Serve as release engineer for deployments across digital platforms.

• Provide technical incident support as part of a 24/7 on-call rota.

KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant DevOps or cloud engineering experience.

• Solid experience with AWS cloud environments.

• Strong experience with CI/CD automation.

• Strong hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK.

• Extensive knowledge of Agile-based software development life cycles.

• Use Python and shell scripting to automate cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows.

• Strong Linux systems and services administration experience.

• Strong experience operating containerized workloads using AWS ECS.

• Experience with Docker containerization.

• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL or other relational databases.

• Strong experience using Git-based source control workflows (GitHub/GitLab).

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud deployment patterns.

• Proficient in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation.

• Experience with performance testing and tuning of distributed systems.

• Working knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s) is a strong advantage.

• Experience with NGINX administration and optimization.

• CDN configuration and implementation experience.

• Understanding of VOD and streaming protocols (HLS / RTMP / DASH / RTP).
