Job Description
The Broadcast Developer works within the Broadcast Computing department and is primarily involved in software development to support the Broadcast Graphics and Online operations. They will continually work to ensure that developed programs are error‐free and conducive in maintaining Sky News Arabia's look on-air and online.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Vizrt integration solution using Template Wizard and control applications.
- Liaise with Graphics, Engineering, Operation and Newsroom teams to build Vizrt solution. E.g. Touchscreen, AR/VR, Ticker etc.
- Integrate & Support providers’ data (Business, Weather, Sports etc.) with Vizrt graphics.
- Assist Broadcast Engineering in the maintenance of Vizrt system; Graphic Hub, Template Wizard, VCP, Active X Control, Ticker System and Map Server etc.
- Integrate different broadcast systems using standard protocols and best practices.
- Integrate broadcast systems with digital/online system to share data and information.
- Develop solution to automate broadcast and newsroom workflow.
Key Skills, Experience and Education
- BA degree in Computer Sciences or similar.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience.
- Experience in maintenance of Vizrt Solution Products: MSE, Graphic Hub, VCP, Template Wizard, Ticker Client, Map Server etc.
- Experience in integration/Maintenance of Zero Density products.
- Experience in writing VB script for templates especially data driven templates.
- Experience in building web applications using ASP.NET MVC framework.
- Experience in ORM, Micro ORM like Entity Framework and Dapper.
- Experience in building Single Page applications using React/Knockout JS.
- Experience in integration tools & technologies, XML, JSON, Web Services, Web API, Rest API and TCP/IP Socket programming.
- Experience in RDBMS, especially MS SQL.
- Experience in building utility applications with.Net framework and C#.
- Experience in SharePoint Application/Web Part and Nintex Workflow.
- Good written and spoken English; knowledge in Arabic will be a plus.
