Job Description

As the New Delhi Bureau Producer you will embrace the full production role: story research, filming assignments, overseeing editing, liaising with guests and contributors, maintaining good relations with authorities and contacts etc.  You will ensure the smooth running of the bureau, being the main point of contact for the Abu Dhabi HQ and you will work closely with correspondents and the team.  You will produce high quality packages, engaging lives, deliver news making guests and generate content for online. You may be required to work across the Middle East and North Africa or internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the bureau's daily and weekly agenda in coordination with Planning Editor and Senior News Editors at the HQ.
• Coordinate the activities of bureau staff throughout the production process.
• Recognise news stories and pursue them aggressively, researching and gathering the required material and putting them together for high quality broadcast and digital content.
• Produce work of the highest quality within a pressured environment. Be comfortable dealing with minute-by minute breaking news and longer term projects or exclusive investigations.
• React quickly and efficiently to breaking news and demonstrates a clear understanding of the requirements of HQ and how the team can deliver them first.

Key Skills, Experience and Educational

• Highly motivated and organised.
• Excellent editorial judgment.
• Familiar with the region within which the bureau is situated.
• Experience on working under tight deadlines to produce high quality news packages and facilitate live broadcasts as well as generate content for online.
• Experience in running large teams on a big news stories under pressure and for long hours.
• Experience in generating digital content would be preferable.
• Experience in working as an output producer would be an advantage.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English & Arabic is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years experience required.
• Degree in journalism or a relevant social science major an advantage.
