Job Description
The Sound Technician will be expected to have in depth knowledge of mics, radio mics, intercom systems, 4 wire coms and clean feeds. Working in a fast-paced breaking news channel, you will need to be able to react to a fast-changing program with an ability to concentrate for long periods. The role will help to ensure cost-effective delivery of a high-quality sound and communications service by helping to implement a strategy that aligns to that of Broadcast Operations and the Business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Help provide professional audio services to all clients.
  • Control audio from multiple sources to provide communication and quality line-up.
  • Use communications systems to facilitate the effective operation of the production environment.
  • Assist in the implementation of audio facilities for new programs and special events.
  • Apply technical knowledge of sound recording equipment to accurately achieve the determined objectives. 
  • Help Sound Directors execute their jobs correctly by providing clear communication and rundown updates in addition to supporting them on the Mixer when needed.
  • Ability to work in different shift pattern that covers 24 hours rota.
Key Skills, Experience and Education
  • BS in Communications Engineering would be preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience required.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic, good in written and spoken English.
  • Proven commitment to making innovative television news.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent program style.
  • Proactive approach, committed to continuous improvement and self-motivated.
  • An effective communicator.
  • The ability to anticipate and react quickly and to use your initiative in the many situations arising from this type of production.
