Job Description

As promos producer you will be involved in shaping one of the most important elements of Sky News Arabia's output, its promos. From quick turnaround news promos to longer term projects, your creative and innovative film-making will be top class and market-leading. Working to the Head of Output, and liaising closely with the Creative department, you will be a self-starting, confident journalist with an eye for picture and artistic flair. Though the main bulk of your work is likely to be for Sky News Arabia's tv channel, you will also show an awareness of the digital world and the possibilities of cross-platform promotion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working under the direction of the Head of Output, producing both short- and long-term promos
  • Owning a promo project from conception to delivery, coming up with creative and original ideas, filming or commissioning graphics, scripting when necessary, engaging external companies or talent if required and supervising the edit
  • Ensuring Sky News Arabia's editorial guidelines and values are adhered to
  • Looking whenever possible at the digital possibilities for promos and how they can be deployed across all Sky News Arabia platforms

     

Key Skills, Experience and Education
  • Experience in television news, including television news production.
  • A strong journalist with creative flair and an eye for artistic detail
  • Previous experience in the making of promos for a national or international broadcast news channel, general entertainment channel, advertising agency or production company
  • Experience of or appreciation of the possibilities of cross-platform digital promotional work
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Minimum of 3 years experience required.
  • BA in journalism or other related social science major a plus.
