Job Description:

This role will provide support to Sky News Arabia (SNA) Newsroom Team. This role requires a significant amount of organizing, planning and coordinating and juggling deadlines and priorities to ensure support to the Newsroom Team as required. The Newsroom Administrator will provide day to day admin support, event coordination and deliver projects to the Team in line with SNA’s vision and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General administrative tasks in support of the newsroom.
  • Managing newsroom rosters for 200+Staff and Independent Contractors.
  • Managing newsroom leave requests, and ensuring all records in the newsroom, such as annual leave, sickness, DOIL’s, risk assessments etc. are accurate and up to date.
  • Tracking department finances and raising newsroom purchase orders.
  • Processing contractor monthly invoices, keeping records.
  • Applying for media accreditations for the newsroom staff.
  • Assigning camera crews throughout the day with reporters/correspondents.
  • Liaising between crews, media operations and Gallery for live programming.
  • Coordinating training programmes and implement People initiatives/systems within the Newsroom.
Key Skills, Experience and Education:
  • Experience of working in a Newsroom environment would be desirable.
  • Strong interest in current affairs and journalism would be desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience required.
  • Experience supporting and planning for large teams.
  • Proven budget, PO or invoice experience to multiple people.
  • Excellent organising and planning skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in event planning and working under tight deadlines.
  • Project Management experience from creation to delivery stage in a support role.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English.
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable with data and analysis.
  • First-class problem-solving skills who gets to the heart of the matter.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with the business while ascertaining the key impact/detail behind the issue/request.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be flexible and embrace change.
  • High attention to detail, someone who cares about quality in everything they do.
