Job Description:
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Financial Analyst / Financial Controller will be responsible for supervising and managing the day to day activities of the Finance Team whilst taking ownership for Management and Financial Accounting, Financial Systems and Controls and leading the internal and external audit arrangements. The Financial Controller will also work closely with the Business to support commercial decision making. The role will be based in Abu Dhabi with occasional travel within the MENA region
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and develop a Finance Team of three, working closely with the AP/AR Supervisor

To maintain and continually improve end to end finance systems and processes including Chart of Accounts

Supervision of Bureaux processes, banking and finance systems

Management Accounting including the provision of detailed budgets and five year plans and the preparation of quarterly cash flow forecasting and cash management

Statutory Reporting including the preparation of statutory accounts and maintenance of adequate accounting policies

Audit lead preparation, and compliance for the external audit in addition to ensuring internal audit compliance

Provision of timely, relevant and accurate information to senior management within finance and wider teams to facilitate decisions and control

Work closely with the business for financial planning to ensure spend within budget and support commercial decision making

An interest in news, the media sector and related technologies
Key Skills, Experience and Education:
- Qualified Accountant through ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent including knowledge of IFRS
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the media industry, ideally in a highly automated, Multinational Corporation
- Previous experience of JD Edwards Accounting software
- Ability to liaise and interact at Senior Management/Executive Level
- A proactive nature to seek out and prioritise potential issues for investigation and research
- Excellent technical financial skills
- The ability to deliver high quality work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Production of presentations, reports and memos with analysis at the appropriate level for Senior Management
- Have, or develop, an excellent understanding of industry and company issues
- First class communication skills, including the ability to write creatively and succinctly, plus the confidence to establish personal credibility with senior management.
