The Transmission Operator will be responsible for maintaining the scheduled play out of multiple transmission channels in Sky News Arabia Transmission facility. The Transmission Operator is responsible for a broad range of operational duties associated with our programme and for providing a range of technical services to programme makers, ensuring quality service.

• Ensure a high quality, well presented error free transmission service.
• Ensure correct & fault free broadcast of Sky News Arabia.
• Prepare schedules ahead of transmission times.
• Carry out schedule amendments accurately & effectively.
• Extensive knowledge of Automation systems, IMC Virtual mixer, Routing, VIZ Ticker client and Transfer materials between servers.
• Monitor all channels for quality and continuity during the work-shift.
• Co-ordinate the playout of commercial breaks in between live programme segments.
• Ensure future broadcasts are protected from possible errors.
• Ability to test and evaluate audio/visual signal quality at the point of production, transmission, and reception.

• BA in media related field is preferred.
• At least 3 years in a similar capacity within a broadcasting environment.
• Good written and spoken Arabic and English languages.
• Extensive experience with playout automation and traffic systems and broadcast server technology.
• Working knowledge of industry best practice in broadcast operational workflows, monitoring and control, and incident management.
• The ability of working under pressure.
• Ability to quickly solve problems.
• Communicate with colleagues and other departments.
• Strong and clear communication skills.
• Ability to write technical weekly and daily reports.
