Job Description: Studio Graphics Operator (SGO) is responsible for running most types of graphics that appear on the screen through several graphics systems. Work is done on these systems during the channel's live broadcast or through recorded programs. Ensure proper execution of graphics for the show as dictated by the Producer and the Studio Director. Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Design Team, Gallery operations and producers.
  • Drive the graphics operational output.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality for the channel's content and style.
  • Communicate with the Studio Director and Producer during the show-to-show timely elements as appropriate.
  • Testing of all equipment and software prior to the Live shows, including but not limited to the VCP and all related engines, Zero Density system, Reality control and iNEWS system.
  • Ability to follow instructions of the show Producer and Studio Director instantly during the show in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with the production team during the live broadcast and recordings.
  • Manage multiple graphic elements as scheduled according to the show Production Schedule (script).
  • Log daily technical and editorial errors and reporting them to the head of the department.
  • Ability to work in different shift pattern that covers 24 hours rota.
Key Skills, Experience and Educational:
  • BA in media related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of live playout in a broadcast environment in a large broadcast channel.
  • Good in both written and spoken Arabic and English.
  • Excellent level of skill within field of technology.
  • Good knowledge of broadcast technology.
  • Excellent software skills in relevant field; particularly Vizrt platforms including Content Pilot, Artist and Trio. Photoshop and After Effects knowledge is advantageous.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Exhibit good judgment and quick decision-making during broadcasting.
  • Strong teamwork and team energy skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on the changing priorities of the department.
