Job Description:
Multimedia producer is required to research and write stories for Sky News Arabia's website and mobile applications. You will be required to place them in the correct channel and position on the site as well as attach video, pictures and graphics. You will be a qualified journalist, with a strong understanding of story treatment and legal requirements. You will also be required to have knowledge of online production and content management systems. Your mission will be to produce original and market-leading news stories while ensuring Sky News Arabia's editorial guidelines and values are adhered to. As well as producing quality picture and video items to the best standard set by SNA.
You'll be required to work shifts, covering weekdays and weekends, including night shifts to maintain the 24/7 news output of SNA and carry out any other duties assigned to you in digital and other news departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with Senior Producers and Editor under the direction of the Head of Digital to produce distinctive and stylish news content for the Sky News Arabia website and mobile applications.
- Researching and writing stories as well as sourcing and editing pictures, video and commissioning graphics to enhance the content of the website and mobile applications.
- Knowledge of online production and content management systems.
- Ensuring Sky News Arabia's editorial guidelines and values are adhered to.
- Required at times to take responsibility for the supervision of the website.
- Ability to show clear and innovative thinking on how to exploit the market, both via the web, but also through mobile devices and other platforms.
- Desire to work with other producers within your team and across the newsroom, as well as with the news desk, to cultivate a collaborative approach to news gathering and delivery across Sky News Arabia.
- Required to work within a shift pattern across the whole week and including nights to service the needs of a 24 hour live site.
Key Skills, Experience and Education:
- Strong editorial judgment and excellent writing skills.
- Experience writing for a website a must.
- Experience working in a multimedia environment.
- Experience in Photoshop and editing video desirable.
- Flexible and collaborative approach to working within a multi-faceted team.
- Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and good knowledge of English.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in relevant field.
- BA in media or relevant subject.
